I thought about telling you what I think should happen to a man that abuses a woman, but then I figured the images that it would conjure are too graphic to put on this site.  Suffice it to say that I think they should be dealt with swiftly and severely.

There are several different types of abuse.  Physical, sexual violence/abuse, psychological and economic.  Many times, multiple forms will manifest themselves in an abusive relationship.  Women sometimes stay in these situations way too long.  You DO have a choice.

C.A.S.A. (Citizens Against Spousal Abuse) offers shelter and much more.  They also offer many services such as adult & child case management, court advocacy and hospital response for sexual assault survivors just to name a few.  They'll stay with you from the moment you decide you should be in a better place until you are well on the road to rebuilding your life.

No matter how isolated you feel, you are not alone.  You don't have to go through making a change alone.  You will have resources and support towards a healthy and stable life, but you have to contact C.A.S.A. first.  If you or someone you know can benefit from C.A.S.A. call them at 660.827.5555 or 1.800.894.1151.  Visit their website at casashelter.org and get some of your questions answered.

They also have Russian and Spanish interpreters so a language or cultural barrier won't be an issue.

There are options available.  Don't live in misery thinking it is the only way.
