Is Saying a Woman is ‘Hot” or “Sexy” Derogatory? [POLL]
Brent Musburger drooled over Katherine Webb during this year’s BCS title game. ESPN even apologized for the comments he made. They didn’t have to. Webb, the reigning Miss Alabama and girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, was actually flattered.
In an interview on the “Today” show yesterday she said:
If he would’ve said something along the line that we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that, I think that would’ve been a little bit different.
I had no idea saying a woman is “hot” or “Sexy” is considered derogatory. There are far worse ways to refer to a female than those two words. As a matter of fact, when I’ve mentioned women’s appearance in those terms, it has always been considered a compliment and “thank you” has always been the response. Am I wrong?
