Up in the sky, it's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, it's the International Space Station. The white line in the photo above is the International Space Station as it flew over Sedalia on Tuesday night (Dec. 10).

It always amazes me when the space station flies over Sedalia at a whopping 18,000 mph. Think about this: it is the size of a football field and it weighs 924,739 lbs. It is more liveable than a six bedroom house and includes two bathrooms, a gymnasium and a 360 degree bay window.

Just think of the view from up there. It has traveled over 1.5 billion statute miles, which is equivalent to eight round trips to the sun.

You can go to the NASA website and get signed up for when the ISS travels over Sedalia again. Take the kids out and show them this wonderful site. The website will send you an email letting you know the exact time it will arrive around your location, and it is always on time.
