Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel announced today one lucky grand prize winner will receive a contribution worth $5,290 to a MOST 529 account as part of the annual 529 College Savings Day® Giveaway.

In addition, 10 first prize winners will each receive a $529 contribution to a MOST 529 account. The giveaway is part of a month-long effort to encourage families to save for higher education using MOST–Missouri’s 529 College Savings Plan. In addition to the giveaway, Treasurer Zweifel will be visiting elementary schools, MOST 529 representatives will appear at regional events and a Twitter Chat will be held on May 25.

Applications for the contest will be accepted online at MissouriMost.org beginning May 1 through May 31, 2016. You do not have to be a MOST 529 account owner to enter. The grand prize and the 10 first prize account contributions will be invested in accordance with the rules of MOST 529 Plan, and the beneficiaries can use the funds received for higher education costs, such as tuition and room and board. There is currently more than $2 billion is invested in the MOST 529 Direct Plan by more than 138,000 account owners.
