Parkview Elementary School celebrated Missouri Read In Day on Friday, March 13, with the theme of “Hooked On Reading.” Harry Hoffert, host of “Huntin’ and Fishin’ with Harry” on KXKX-FM and brother of second grade teacher Melissa Johnson, stopped by to read to students. He also talked about how he started his organization, MO Kids Outdoors.

“When we were little, our mom used to take us fishing and spend quality time with us,” he said. He drove by the park one day and noticed how many kids were there without parents.

“If our mom doing things with us like fishing helped us become successful, then the same could happen with other kids in Sedalia,” he said.  So, he started MO Kids Outdoors and the radio show.
