Pettis County, the City of Sedalia and the Region F Solid Waste District will be sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Pickup on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at the west campgrounds on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Those bringing waste to the pickup are asked to enter the campground off Clarendon Road.

Acceptable items include:

  • Automotive Fluids (motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, brake fluid)
  • Paint Products
  • Batteries
  • Compact Fluorenscent Bulbs (CFLs)
  • Aerosol Cans
  • Household Cleaners (ammonia, drain cleaners, acid cleaners, oven cleaners)
  • Pesticides/Herbicides
  • Gasoline and Kerosene
  • Mercury
  • Pool Chemicals

Items that will not be accepted include:

  • -Ammunition of any kind
  • -Compressed Gas Cylinders (including propane tanks)
  • -Narcotics
  • -E-Waste
  • Explosives
  • PCBs
  • Appliances
  • Radioactive Waste
  • Tires
  • Bulk Waste
  • Commercial Waste
  • Leaking Containers
