The Pettis County Sheriff has identified the homicide victim found Sunday afternoon (May 4) at a Pettis County trailer park south of Sedalia.

On Thursday, detectives identified the victim as 35-year-old Mandy M. Black of Marshall.  The identification was made through positive confirmation of tatoos found on the victim.  Appropriate notification of next of kin occurred Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff Kevin Bond believes the homicide occurred around the first of this year.

Deputies were called to Lot 19 of the Goodwill Chapel Trailer Park Sunday afternoon after workers discovered Black’s remains outside the residence. While investigating the case later in the afternoon, a deputy canvassing the area located portions of the remains in a wooded are a short distance from the home.

As deputies continue to investigate, Sheriff Kevin Bond urges anyone with information on the case to call Pettis County Crime Stoppers at 660-827-TIPS or the Sheriff’s Office at 660-827-0052.
