Hit-And-Run Accident Kills Two on U.S. 50 Near Warrensburg

A hit-and-run accident near Warrensburg has resulted in two deaths and serious injuries for two others after a vehicle was struck from behind on U.S. 50.

According to the Missouri Sate Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Ronald Harvey of Green Ridge was driving his 1997 Mercury on U.S. 50 in Johnson County at 12:28 a.m. on Sunday when a second vehicle struck it from behind.  The impact pushed Harvey's vehicle off the highway, where it overturned and struck a tree.  Authorities are still trying to find the second vehicle that left the scene.

Harvey and a passenger, 54-year-old Vickie Brandkamp of Green Ridge, were killed in the crash.  Two additional 47-year-old passengers in the car were taken to a hospital in serious condition.
