History Could Repeat Itself

An unprecedented 82 percent of California is in an “extreme drought,” according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report released last week. Of that, 58 percent of the state is in an “exceptional drought” — the driest conditions possible — an increase of more than 20 percent in a single week.  As the drought unfolds slowly and devastatingly, California farmers are feeling desperate and abandoned. The little rainfalls we have received the last couple of days plus the possibilities of rain in the forecast should make us feel lucky.  Check out the full story on the modern-day dust bowl on Yahoo.com.
