Have You Ever “Regifted” a Gift? [POLL]
Didn't get what was on your Christmas list last year? Many people consider "regifting "a great alternative for letting those unwanted Christmas presents collect dust in the attic. But is socially acceptable?
If you're not familiar with the lingo, regifting is taking a present that was given to you and giving it to somebody else as a gift instead. You don't get stuck with a gift you don't need and you get to cross another person off of your holiday shopping list.
According to a recent survey, 60% of people believe that regifting is becoming more accepted, especially since it is a good way to save on holiday expenses. Some people consider it a form of recycling. There's even a National Regifting Day on the third Thursday in December.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't bring myself to pass off a present that was meant for me. Even if it's not a gift I had in mind, there's usually some sentimental value to Christmas gifts, no matter what they are, and I can't bring myself to just give that away. Plus, I would be absolutely mortified if one of my friends or family members found out I had regifted one of their presents.
I'm curious how popular regifting is in Sedalia. Take our poll and let us know if you've ever regifted something. Don't worry, your answer will be anonymous, so we won't squeal on you.
