The Green Ridge Tigers beat the Smithton Tigers in overtime Saturday at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the SFCC campus, 77-70, on the second day of the 2017 Kaysinger Conference Basketball Tournament.

Also during that overtime, Green Ridge's Ryan Dove scored his 1,000th career point.

In the Smithton girls game, the Lady Tigers defeated Stover, 44-35. Stover was the 2016 girls championship team.

Play continues every night this week (except Wednesday) at the college.

Tonight (Monday) La Monte girls take on the Green Ridge Lady Tigers starting at 6 p.m, followed by a boys game. The Northwest Mustangs play the La Monte Vikings at 7:30 p.m.

Smithton advances to take on Tipton at 6 p.m. Tuesday, while Stover will play Otterville at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the consolation bracket.

A total of 16 teams are competing in the tournament, with the championship girls game scheduled for Friday night and the boys championship on Saturday,
