It's with much sadness that we bring you this news so late on a Saturday night. 'Glee' star Cory Monteith has passed away at the age of 31 in Vancouver, Canada, due to unspecified causes.

We're sure to hear more about this tragic and untimely death in the coming days, but what we do know for now is that, according to Variety and various other news outlets (and confirmed by Vancouver police), Cory Monteith was found unresponsive in a Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel room in Vancouver this evening.

Monteith, 31, played Finn Hudson on the hit Fox television series 'Glee.' Though his character graduated from the fictional high school on the show, he continued to make appearances like several of his co-stars, including Lea Michele. Like his onscreen counterpart, Monteith had been romantically linked to Michele.

The actor had been written off the show temporarily after admitting to substance abuse issues and checking into rehab. It's unclear at this time whether those issues played a role in his death, but the Vancouver police have announced that an autopsy is scheduled for Monday and "all indications are that there was no foul play."

Monteith's publicist released a statement to USA Today, saying, "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."

Monteith had a great gift for music and performance, and had also appeared in 'Final Destination 3' and 'Monte Carlo.' His final film, titled 'All the Wrong Reasons' and co-starring fellow Canadian Kevin Zegers, is currently in post-production.
