If you're making a New Year's resolution to lose weight, two things:  First, good for you.  And second.... I bet you think the odds are completely stacked against you actually succeeding.  Sorry. It doesn't have to be that way, though.

Let's get real, though.  According to a new survey, 72% of us have made a New Year's resolution to lose weight in previous years.  But 69% of us have FAILED at it.  In other words, there's only about a 3% success rate.  Still, 70% of the people polled said they plan to make it a New Year's resolution AGAIN this year.  According to one expert, the key is to have realistic goals, and also make sure you have plenty of healthy foods around . . . so you don't go back to eating entire bags of Doritos.  And a lot of people break their New Year's resolution to lose weight because they don't see RESULTS fast enough.  So you also have to be patient.  70% of people who HAVE failed say they abandoned their resolution by March.   This cycle CAN break, though.  You just have to be patient, get moving, and get some support.  You can get the inspiration and support you need with Healthy U and Moving 101.  I got to speak with Stephanie Fraley about the program, the night of inspiration, and what you can do to get started.

Don't think if you're not involved in Moving 101 or Healthy U that you can't attend. The event is open to the public. So if you have any curiosity about Healthy U, Moving 101, or if you want to learn a little bit about getting healthy this year, make a point to go by. You can RSVP to Stephanie Fraley at 827-9138, and check out their Facebook to keep updated on the latest.

Inspiringly yours,

Behka
