After hinting at it on Instagram, Florida Georgia Line dropped a brand-new single on Friday morning (June 1). Readers can press play above to hear "Simple."

Written by Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, along with Michael Hardy and Mark Holman, "Simple" takes cues from folk and roots music -- it's a bit reminiscent of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes' 2010 hit "Home" -- and mixes them with a poppy beat and steady rhythm. The duo's longtime collaborator, Joey Moi, produced the song, which is about finding your soulmate.

"It's like one, two, three, just as easy as can be / Just the way you look at me, you make me smile / Ain't no need to complicate it / We both know that's overrated / We've been there, it's safe to say it ain't our style," goes the chorus of "Simple." "We're just simple like a six string / The way this world was meant to be / Like laugh and love, make a lot out of a little / It's just that simple, s-i-m-p-l-e, simple as can be / It's just that simple, s-i-m-p-l-e, simple as can be ..."

"Simple" is the first single from Florida Georgia Line's forthcoming fourth studio album. Except for the inclusion of a Jason Aldean collaboration, no further details about the project -- which will be the followup to 2016's Dig Your Roots -- have been announced; however, FGL also surprise-released a second new track, "Colorado," at the same time as "Simple." Kelley says in a press release that he and Hubbard are "excited to share the next chapter of FGL that we’ve been working so hard on."

"We are always wanting to push our sound forward and never make the same record twice," adds Hubbard. "We feel like we’ve upped our game on this project as well."

"Simple" is available for download and streaming on various music platforms.
