The National Weather Service has a flood watch in effect until Midnight. The National Weather Service is predicting anywhere from one to two inches of rain could be in our area today, with more rain expected Saturday.

Thankfully, the forecast is not predicted to get cold enough to cause any drastic wintry conditions on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping days. However, Sedalia/Pettis County EMA Director David Clippert is reporting this can't be ruled out.

"Heavy rains are expected today and tonight," according to Clippert. "The main concern is the possibility of some very light icing which could make things very slick. Use caution when driving."

There are a few roads across Missouri flooded over, with Highway D in Lafayette County and Highway 127 in Saline County flooded.

The lighting ceremony and fireworks extravaganza at the Hotel Bothwell is still scheduled to take place at 6 tonight.
