The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Thursday, February 16th.

Abnormally dry conditions and cured fuels, combined with above normal temperatures, strong winds, and low humidity values will lead to critical fire weather conditions on Thursday, according to the NWS.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

The Fire Weather Watch is in effect until 6:00 Thursday evening (Feb 16).

The counties included in the Fire Weather Watch are: Pettis, Johnson, Saline, Henry, Lafayette, Bates, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Cooper, Howard, Jackson, Platte, and Ray.
