The students in State Fair Community College’s Music Arts program will present their spring musical showcase at 7:30 p.m. May 3-4 in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus.

The SFCC Jazz Band will perform a kaleidoscope of musical styles, from Latin-infused jazz to Big Band jazz standards and contemporary jazz selections. One of the selections, “Tank (A Cowboy Beebop)” by composer Yoko Kanno, was arranged by SFCC graduating student Carl Wilken as a theory and arranging project.

The choirs will showcase their favorite selections from the fall and spring semesters as well as several new selections. Featured selections include “O Fortuna” from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, the Scottish folksong ‘Loch Lomond’ and “Omnia Sol” by Randal Stroope.

Tickets are $8 for the public and may be purchased online at www.sfccmo.edu/thearts. Admission for SFCC students, faculty and staff is free.  Wheelchair seating is available upon request one week before the concert.
