DESCRIPTION:Come join us for the 46th Annual Hughesville Christmas Parade on Saturday\, December 1. The parade will line up at 1:00 p.m at Summit Street and many will watch at Main and Summit. The parade begins at 2:00 p.m.  A donation lunch of chili\, hotdogs\, drinks and dessert will be served from 11:00 a.m. until after the parade.  Santa will be at the Community Building to visit with children after the parade.  Linda Hoover will be on hand to do hair painting with chalk and face painting.  Dorothy the Clown will be there with balloon art.  The Santa Store will be open for kids to purchase $1 gifts for their parents\, siblings or other relatives and friends.  If you know someone who would like to enter the parade or would like to enter yourself or your group (Marching units\, floats\, vehicles\, horses/animals)\, call Norma Thomas  at 826-3531.

DESCRIPTION:Here are some opportunities for Youth with the Central Missouri Electric Cooperative.  CYCLE (Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience) is a three-day\, expenses paid conference held in Jefferson City each July.  It is open to high school sophomores and juniors whose parents are current members of CMEC.  The conference teaches about electric cooperatives\, leadership and Missouri State government.  It’s also a time to make new friends from across Missouri and have some fun.    Youth Tour is a week-long\, all-expense paid conference held in Washington\, D.C. each June.  Delegates meet in our nation’s capitol to learn about our Federal government\, the Rural Electric Cooperative system and visit with their Legislators.  They will also visit most of the monuments\, our Capitol\, the Smithsonian and many other special areas of our nation’s capitol.  This program is open to high school juniors are current members of CMEC.  For more information on both programs\, please contact Kathy at 660-826-2900.

DESCRIPTION:The Women’s Service League of Sedalia is planning its 16th Annual Cupid’s Ball\, Passport to Fashion\, for Saturday\, February 2\, 2013.  The ball will take place at The Smith Cotton High School.  Girls 5-12 years are invited to ask their favorite guy; father\, stepfather\, uncle\, or grandfather to the dance. DESCRIPTION:State Fair Community College invites members of area civic organizations to attend Civic Club Night Jan. 26 at the Roadrunner basketball games in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on campus.    Civic club members may pick up free admission passes at their club meetings.  The SFCC Booster Club also will hold its annual chili and soup supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on campus.  Meal tickets are $5 for adults and $3 or children 12 and younger and are available from Booster Club members or at the door. The price of the ticket includes soup or chili\, a drink and dessert\, but does not include admission to the game\, which is $5 per adult and $3 per student age 12 and above. Children under 12 and people over 60 are admitted free.  SFCC will host Mineral Area College. The Lady Roadrunners will play at 5:30 p.m. and the Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for State Fair Community College’s summer youth sports and cheerleading camps at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.    Instructors will include the SFCC basketball coaching staff and student athletes\, plus other college and high school coaches and athletes.    • Roadrunners basketball camp for grades 3-12 will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10-12. Cost is $95 per person. Emphasis will be on improving basketball skills and having fun. Campers will be organized into age groups.    • A shooting camp for boys and girls in grades 3-12 will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13 and 9 a.m. to noon June14. Cost is $50. Campers will learn proper shooting form\, and each camper will receive a personal shot evaluation to help improve shooting ability.    • Lady Roadrunners girls basketball camp will be held June 17-20. Grades 3-7 will meet from 9-11:30 a.m. and grades 8-12 from 1-3:30 p.m. Cost is $70. Emphasis will be on improving basketball fundamentals and having fun.    •  Lady Roadrunners Mother-Daughter Pajama-Rama Overnight basketball camp for girls in grades 3-12 and their moms will be held from 6:30 p.m. June 21 to 1 p.m. June 22. Cost is $60.    • Pee wee basketball camp for boys and girls in grades Pre K- grade 3 (ages 4-8) will meet from 9-11:30 a.m. June 24-26. Cost is $50 per child on or before June 14\, or $55 after that date. Children will learn the fundamentals of ball handling\, including how to pass\, dribble and catch a basketball.    • The SFCC Spirit Squad will host a youth cheerleading camp from 1-4 p.m. July 8-10 for students in grades K-8. Cost is $40. The camp will include individual instruction on cheerleading fundamentals\, including cheers\, dance\, stunts\, and stunt safety. DESCRIPTION:Sedalia will be filled on Saturday\, June 15 with Patriot Guard Riders and other motorcycle groups.   The ride will meet at the Sedalia Regional Airport at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and will start the ride at noon to the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  The event will last until 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. that night.  Events planned for the day include a motorcycle show and rodeo\, rides in an Army tank and in the POW/MIA hot air balloon\, and performances by two bands\, including Dirty Deeds from Joplin.  The goal is to honor groups that honor military families at funerals and other events.

DESCRIPTION:The Smithton Town & Country Fair will take place July 11 through July 13.   The First events on Thursday are an Art\, Home Economics\, Creative Crafts\, and Flower show at 9:00.  That evening there will be a parade at 6:30 p.m. and the Miss Pettis County Coronation with Children's games and the Auctioneer's Bid Contest.  On Friday\, at 9:00 the Swine Show begins\, followed by a Children's Pedal Pull and Tractor Pull beginning at 7:00 p.m.  On Saturday\, there will be a barbecue at the City Park beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Also on Saturday there will be a Beef/Sheep/Goat Show\, Garden Tractor Pull\, Pie Baking Contest\, Ice Cream Freezing Contest\, Baby Contest\,  Children's Games\, the Super Farmer Contest\, and Pig Dressing.   There will be concessions and commercial booths as well.  Exhibits will be in the  Multipurpose Room.
