State Fair Community College will offer bicycle maintenance classes in  May at the Sedalia Katy Depot, 600 E. Third St.

Basic Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance will meet from 5-7 p.m. May 22. Cost is $29.

Participants will learn basic bicycle repair skills, what tools are required and typical bicycle terminology so they can become self-sufficient cyclists. The information will apply to all types of bicycles. Some repairs will include hands-on demonstrations.

Advanced Bicycle Maintenance will meet from 5-7 p.m. May 22. Cost is $29. Prerequisite: “Basic Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance.”

Participants will learn to analyze problems and handle more detailed adjustments on all types of bicycles, including what tools are required. Hands-on experience will be offered during a component-by-component study of bicycle repair as well as a study of the bicycle as a complete unit.

Instructor for both classes will be Steve Champion.
