Additional Information

The Sedalia Spin Gypsies, a performance arts group, has rented the Sedalia Community Center Gym for the afternoon of Wednesday, December 12th. There will be several performances by area students and citizens involving dance, hoop, and poi. The SSG's are in the process of constructing 200 professional-grade hula-hoops to be given away the day of the event to local area children. Children will be shown trick-moves (other than the standard hooping around the waste) by the SSG's, and how to spin Poi. There will be a number of craft stations that encourage performance art and a DJ has been secured for musical entertainment of the event. A magician will also be there. Snacks will be provided. It is an afternoon of physical activity and crafts to encourage area youth to become involved in performance art. This event is for school-aged children through high school. Sedalia Spin Gypsies' Whirled Peace is in association with World Hoop Day. The SSG's ask any who attend to bring paper goods and cleaning supplies as a donation to CASA.
