To close a recent Song Suffragettes concert, the #LetTheGirlsPlay collective chose a song that's very near to any dreamer's heart, and very appropriate. Kalie Shorr, Lena Stone and company performed Eli Young Band's "Even If It Breaks Your Heart."

The song is about never losing sight of a dream, something this group of hard-working women know a thing or two about. The #LetTheGirlsPlay movement was started in response to the lack of women in country music and the obstacles they face. For nearly three years this group has held a Monday night concert at the Listening Room that's part show, part support group.

Shorr and Stone start this cover song, before Lacy Green (far left), Julia Cole and Trannie Stevens (far right) each take a part of the hit from the EYB's 2012 Life at Best album. Like they so often do, they come together for beautiful harmonies. The performance and the song are a great representation of what this group is all about.

Song Suffragettes consists of a rotating lineup of the best up-and-coming female singer-songwriters in Nashville, and their Monday night performances at the Listening Room offer them a platform for their original songs, ending each time with a group cover. Taste of Country features a new cover weekly, as well as a monthly feature article on one of the talented women. This month's featured artist is Tenille Arts.
