This year I promised Carolyn Green of Child Safe that I would bake something for the celebrity dessert auction this year. Usually I'm away for the Thanksgiving Holiday and wouldn't be able to bake something. This year I'm sticking around Missouri and decided that a good ol' apple pie would be the way to go. I am pleased to at least show you the apple pie that I made and hope you go out to the Celebration Center at 5:30 tonight (Nov. 26) and bid on it, knowing it's going to help out Child Safe.

For those that don't know what Child Safe does, they are committed to serving children who are alleged victims of severe physical or sexual abuse and providing advocacy for their non-offending family members. They serve 11 central Missouri counties, so you can imagine funding gets stretched thin at times. This dessert auction is a great idea and I am glad to donate to the cause.

Many ask if I bought this pie. I can assure you the pie was made by myself, and my wife made sure I did not burn it or put something strange ingredient into it. She can tell you I'm no baker, but I do believe in the causes and I hope whoever gets it enjoys it, along with all the other desserts.

I hope you can make it to the Celebration Center on 32nd St. tonight for some good ol' fashioned chili and to bid on the desserts.
