As Behka pointed out, some of us had to work yesterday.  I, however, managed to get to Eldon to play golf. On my way through Cole Camp, I noted the line of cars heading West on 52 to the lake.  The line stretched from the four-way stop all the way to the clinic just on the outskirts of town.  There was even a police officer at the four-way to direct traffic and try to keep things moving.  He had his work cut out for him.  All I could think was, "With that many people at the lake, there are going to be a lot of tired people tomorrow."

Then I was talking with a friend this morning who was wrestling with the idea of going in to work today.  I've always wanted to call the boss and say, "I'm disinterested in working today.  I may come in tomorrow." I never have, of course. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've called in to work for an illegitimate reason since I've started in radio.  But I wasn't always in radio.  Child care issues were to blame for more than a few days spent fishing.

Did you go in to work today or did you extend the holiday weekend?  And what is the most creative excuse you have come up with to skip a day of work when it wasn't necessary?
