Plans are being developed for a new public plaza on The Avenues of Downtown Sedalia and public is invited to share their thoughts.

The site selected for the plaza is on the southwest corner of 2nd Street and Ohio Avenue.

A collaboration on the space began last year between Sedalia Downtown Development, Inc., the Sedalia Parks & Recreation Department, the Central Business and Cultural District, and the City of Sedalia.

The City says the space could serve multiple public events and activities, as well as, green space for leisure activities for residents who live, work, and visit The Avenues.

Following up on a community-forum held in recent months, the public is invited to participate in an online survey to evaluate the importance of various amenities and activities suggested for the plaza space.

The City says the input is important in creating a public space that meets the needs and desires of the community and enhances the central historic commercial district.

The survey can be found here.
