Growing up, Colt Ford played several sports, but despite a love for 'the game,' music eventually found him, he says. The singer stopped by Taste of Country to chat about music, his childhood and his 'Thanks for Listening' album, which hit in July.

"You know, somebody asked me when I got into music and I said never, music got into me," Ford explains. "It's something that's always been a part of my life. When I was little, my mom said I was beating on the dash. And she'd say a word and I'd try to rhyme with it. It's always been a part of my life."

Even though he's always been into music, Ford hasn't always been tied to a specific genre. "I just wanted to be a music star," the big guy says. "I just loved music and I loved all kinds."
