Right off the bat, our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the tornado in Moore, Okla. and anyone who sustained any damage from the weather in our Area.  Dukes & Boots will be taking donations for the Moore victims of the deadly F-5 tornado.  Please donate, no donation is to small.  Remember, this is going to be a crazy weather season and it's going to get worse, so be prepared.  Have you children know what to do in case they are playing outside and the sirens go off.  They should know what to do if you aren't with them.

This weekend is a very special weekend with a lot of events associated with our veterans and military, so get out and pay your respects to our heroes, past and present, who give us the freedoms we enjoy.  I'd like to thank my heroes Harry Hoffert Sr., Elmo Lutjen, Marion "Butch" Schmidt Jr., Marion Schmidt Sr., Don Brown and Dave Brown.  They have given me the freedoms to live and love this great country.

There will be a flag retirement ceremony at Centennial Park on Saturday, along with a picnic put on by the 40&8.  It is our main fundraiser, so please plan to attend.  If you have a torn, worn out flag or one that has touched the ground, please bring it and give it the respect of being retired properly.

The Mid-Mo Outlaws will be playing at home this Saturday night, so come out and give them the support they need.  The season has been rough, but we are proud that Sedalia has one of the few professional arena football teams.  We are the smallest city to have a team in the league of this caliber, so come on out and show them some love.

The lakes will be crowded this weekend, so remember, you are in charge of the safety of you and your family.  Nobody else will be watching out for you, they'll be watching out for themselves.  Please remember boating safety, life jackets, don't swim alone and enjoy the great outdoors.  Leave the lake and the land cleaner than how you found it.

Listen next week for information about the Great Outdoors Family Fun Day, brought to you by KIX 105 and Huntin' and Fishin' with Harry.

'Til next week, seeya!
