Sedalia Civic Club Members Treated to Free Basketball at SFCC Civic Club Night
January 23, 2013 I’ve had the pleasure of working with many civic clubs in Sedalia, whether it be Pettis County Rotary, Sedalia Rotary, Sunrise Optimists, Noonday Optimists, Lions Club, Sedalia ELKS, Sedalia Kiwanis, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, VFW, 40 & 8, American Legion and many others.
While we get the chance to cover their activities, it is not often they all have an appreciation day. This Saturday (Jan. 26), State Fair Community College will have Civic Club Night, where members of the various civic clubs get in free for the basketball games when the State Fair Community College Roadrunners have a double-header. Civic club members may pick up free admission passes at their club meetings.

St. Louis Cardinals Set Up Memorial Website for Stan Musial
The entire St. Louis Cardinals family is deeply saddened by the passing of Cardinals Hall of Famer Stan Musial at the age of 92. Musial, who played his entire 22-year major league career (1941-63) for the Cardinals, died this evening at his home in Ladue surrounded by his family.

The primary baseball icon of the Midwest -- the soft-smiling, sweet-swinging, deferential and genial man known as "The Man" -- has passed. Stan Musial, known for his pretzel stance, prodigious production, princely personality and Hall of Fame harmonica, died on Saturday (Jan. 19), surrounded by family at his home in Ladue, Mo., not far from St. Louis, where he made his mark as a batsman par excellence in the 1940s and '50s. Arguably the greatest left-handed hitter in National League history was 92.
