Hundreds of cyclists turned out for the Sedalia Historic District Criterium on Saturday, August 25. The start of the races began under downpour circumstances, but most of the rain stopped during the first race of the day. “The rain may take away from the spectators, but the riders are pretty oblivious to the rain and they are always ready for this,” said race promoter and owner of Pro-Velo Cycling, Ebby Norman.
92.3 BOB-FM is an affiliate of the Kansas City Chiefs, and each year we get invited to Kansas Cit Chiefs Radio Affiliates Day, which usually happens in pre-season. Normally I don’t get the chance to go because I’m at the Missouri State Fair or covering high school football, but this year with Al McCurdy bringing us Smith-Cotton Football, I finally got the chance to go.

LoCash Cowboys put on an amazing show Friday night (August 17) out at Cadillac Ranch in Warrensburg. The duo played their chart topping hits, including “You Gonna Fly,” “Truck Yeah” and “C.O.U.N.T.R.Y.” and “Here Comes Summer.” Chris and Preston also unveiled some brand new songs that are in the works. They brought a few special guests to share the stage as well, including LoCash Cowboy superfan Nick and country rockers Bush Hawg, who are playing at the Bud Tent at this year’s Missouri State Fair. The 2012 Missouri State Fair, marks the 50th anniversary of the Missouri State Fair Volunteer Fire Department, who are the most unique firefighters in the state. The reason for this is because the department itself only exists for two weeks out of the year during the Missouri State Fair.
