In 1971, the Academy of Country Music Awards honored Merle Haggard with the first-ever Entertainer of the Year award. Since then, the coveted trophy has been bestowed on some of country music's best and brightest.
The Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division has a large number of historic photographs in its collection. Some of them are from Sedalia and Pettis County. Unfortunately, dates are not available for many of these images. Even so, it is interesting to look at the collection.
