Listeners Give Suggestions on Behka’s Staycation [SURVEY]

Next week is going to be a big one for me since I've not had a vacation in quite some time.  I actually don't remember the last time I was gone for more than maybe one day.  I guess when you've got a fun job that doesn't make you actually WORK, then vacations seem a little unnecessary.

Sedalia Schools Came Back, Sedalia Weighed In [POLL]

Last week was the beginning of District 200's school year, and Sacred Heart started a day before them. Today is probably the "real" beginning of the school year since the first two days are normally orientation and acclimation.

What Do You Do on Your Staycation? [SURVEY]

Coming up next week, I'm gonna take a few days off.  It's been a while since I've done that; it seems like there was always more reason not to then reasons to go for it.  So now, after Labor Day, there'll be another four Behkaless days - whether that's good or bad for the people I work with is another question for another day.

Sedalia Schools Are Back: Were You Ready? [POLL]

Today is day two of school for most kids in Sedalia, or day three if your kids go to Sacred Heart. There's always so much for the adults to get ready. Whether its the transportation schedules or the school shopping, things have to get juggled around.

Pettis County Needs an Urgent Care Center [OPINION]

The Missouri State Fair time frame usually brings about some sort of health issue with me. The last two years of the fair I've lost my voice, and this year I injured my ankle. I did not get injured on the job either, just took a bad step and it hurt a lot. It appears that I have sprained it. On last Friday afternoon, it really started to bug me. I had countless people tell me I need to go get it checked out. Only one problem: in Sedalia after 5 p.m. on any given Friday, you can only go to to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Room for a checkup.

Our Listeners Tell Us Their Favorite Parts of the Missouri State Fair

Well, I think all of us are feeling a little bittersweet about the end of the Missouri State Fair. Sure, we probably didn't want to be on the national news for strange reasons, and sure, we probably will enjoy less traffic around town, but with all the great stuff going on there, you know you kind of miss it, too.  So I asked you guys what you thought was your favorite part of the fair this year.

Behka’s Buildings at the Fair: Otto and The Fire Department [PHOTOS]

I grew up here in Sedalia. When we were kids, every year we looked forward to the Missouri State Fair. Part of what we looked forward to were the Firetrucks and, well, of course, Otto. If you don't know who Otto is, or if you haven't met Otto at least once in your childhood, then I apologize to you for the sad and horribly deprived life you led.

Concerts at the Pepsi Grandstand: What’s the Holdup? [OPINION]

Saturday night (Aug. 10) was the big Randy Houser and Gary Allan concert, and fans came out in flocks to see this highly anticipated show. A line started to form early and made its way down the Midway. The introduction was done and you could hear Randy Houser finish his first song, so why was the line still down the Midway and back to the Hacienda?

$10 Wins a Large: What Happened to Carnival Games? [OPINION]

I was able to get out the the fair and experience everything it had to offer this year. I decided to take my four year-old nephew out and let him ride some rides and play some carnival games, the things I looked forward to as a kid. Little did I know, carnival games have changed!
