Nostalgia

Just by the title you have to figure that I am a fan of the series "Yellowstone." I, like many others, am waiting for the next season to find out what will transpire. I thought I'd do some investigating into the largest ranch in Missouri.

When I was kid growing up in Chicago, snow days were hard to come by. These days, the snow day may be an endangered species.

We've been lucky that the snow has avoided us this winter. Ten years ago Sedalia and Warrensburg weren't so lucky.

When I was a a kid my weekly allowance was 25 cents. Now I really don't remember if I had a set list of chores that I had to fulfill before got my quarter but I'm sure my mom and dad had plenty for me to do to earn the money.

There was a day when everything important, or at least to some it was deemed important, was posted at work on the bulletin board. Some of us even had a bulletin board at home to keep important info in one location.

If you try to tell your kids or grandkids about the old days a lot of times they just look at you funny, roll their eyes, and direct their attention back to whatever electronic device they were on. Most kids think it was the stone age and we rode dinosaurs everywhere.

If you grew up watching Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy, you'll be in hog heaven (Sorry Miss Piggy!) with the return of the Jim Henson puppets.
