Household Hazardous Waste Pickup Being Held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds This Weekend

Pettis County, the City of Sedalia and the Region F Solid Waste District will be sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Pickup on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at the west campgrounds on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Those bringing waste to the pickup are asked to enter the campground off Clarendon Road.

The Mid-Missouri Outlaws are ready to take on the Oklahoma Defenders in Tulsa this Sunday. The game has been moved up to 2:05 p.m.  The Outlaws are looking for their first win in the CPIFL, as they lost last week to the Kansas Koyotes by a score of 49-18.  The Defenders are 1-3 this season, with there only victory coming over the Kansas Koyotes with a score of 62-40.

Marshall Philharmonic Performing with Kansas City Symphony at Free Concert

The Marshall Philharmonic has been around for 50 years.  They're celebrating this with a collaboration with the Kansas City Symphony on Wednesday, April 10 at the Harold L. Lickey Auditorium of the Bueker Middle School, starting at 7:00 p.m.  The KC Symphony rarely travels, so this is a big deal that they're coming to Marshall. And it's a big deal that the Marshall Philharmonic has gone 50 years now, making excellent music year after year.

Sedalia #200 School Board Members Sworn In, Officers Elected

The Sedalia 200 School Board met at Smith-Cotton High School last night (April 8) for the first meeting following an election. The first item on the agenda was the swearing in of the newly elected members, which consisted of returning board member David Wolf and the new board member Diane Nichols, a longtime member of the Sedalia 200 School Foundation who took the seat of Stan Bowlin, who did not seek reelection.

Parkview Pizzazz Perform the National Anthem at Missouri Maverick’s Hockey Playoff Game

The Parkview Pizzazz singing group for students in 2nd to 4th grade at Parkview Elementary in Sedalia performed at the Missouri Maverick's Playoff Hockey Game in Independence on Saturday (April 6). The group was invited to sing at the Kansas City Maverick's Hockey game In the fall.  Since the team made it to the playoffs, they invited the choir back to sing the National Anthem before the game. The choir is under the direction of music director Cindy Calafaty and 4th grade teacher Kylee Weber.
