One of my favorite events for one of my favorite causes is going on Saturday It's the adult Easter Egg Hunt benefiting the Child Safe Organization. Child Safe is a organization that helps children who have been physically and or sexually abused. It's a safe place where kids who have been abused can talk to a professional about what has happened to them in a safe environment. It is videotaped and sent to prosecutors and law enforcement so the kids only have to tell their story one time. It's a great organization and this is their biggest fundraiser.
March 22, 2013 The weather roller coaster is on another wild ride, and this time I have to say that mother nature is a motha and groundhogs are on my most wanted list. The only way for me to feel better is to get out my AR and run a couple hundred rounds through it, then shoot my pistol, a few shotguns, more rifles, and then start all over with my other AR. Then I'll clean them, because the smell of gunpowder and cleaning solvent is the essence of fun.
St. Louis University is seeded fourth in this year's NCAA Tournament, and they're a sentimental favorite for a lot of hoops fans this year. In December, their coach, Rick Majerus, died of heart failure at the age of 64. The team dedicated their season to the memory of their coach.
But an additional reason to root for St. Louis is their mascot: the Billiken. What exactly is a Billiken anyway?
March 21, 2013 The Mid-Missouri Outlaws are ready for week two of their season and are heading out on the road to take on the Bloomington Edge. Both teams lost in their first game. The Outlaws lost to the Lincoln Haymakers in overtime 38-31, while the Edge lost to last year’s APFL Champion Sioux City Bandits 62-56. Due to previous commitments for the arena in Bloomington, the game will be played on Friday, Mar. 22 at 7:05 p.m.
March 21, 2013 Spring may have started on Mar. 20, but it looks like winter still wants to shine. The National Weather Service has been predicting snow for the next couple of days. Some areas were expected to get up to five inches, others around one or two.
Willie Nelson continues to show everyone that life can get even more rewarding as the years fly by. He's one of country music's greatest 'Heroes,' and it's fitting that with all his success and accomplishments, Nelson will receive an honorary doctor of music degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
