Last night, the CMAs had their big yearly awards show.  Every year they celebrate the best and the brightest in what's happening in country music. I think all of us have our opinions on who should win and who shouldn't.  Of course, it's based on our personal preferences.  For me, though, one award I thought went to the absolutely correct recipient was Best New Artist.

Tonight (Nov. 6) is the biggest night in country music: the CMA Awards! I love country music, but honestly, awards shows can get a little dry on their own. So, what better way to make the ceremonies more enjoyable than a good old fashioned drinking game?

Guesstimation. It's a guess. Also an estimation. In this case, it's the art of trying to figure out how much a bunch of stuff will fit in something else. This guesstimate video is pretty good practice for the 105 Pounds of Cash giveaway from Advantage Metals Recycling.

It was a huge weekend for the folks looking to save some money with Rent-A-Center.Not only were they having a big sale where you could pay four weeks in advance and get another four weeks off, but they also had us join the fun with our 105 Pounds of Cash!  It was pretty amazing to see all the great stuff they had.

Grab your Halloween costume and come race for a great cause at Clover Dell Park on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Trick or Trot for TaTas 5K and Monster Dash Kids' Fun Run presented by Socket Voice, Data and Internet.  There will be prizes for the best guy, best girl and best group costumes, as well as for best costume for ages 2-6 and 7-12.  Proceeds from the run will go to Bothwell Regional Health Car

As you may or may not know, Tyler Farr is from the Mid-Missouri area. He grew up in Garden City, and his dad even owns a restaurant here in Sedalia. He's now a rising star in country music, and was even here to play the Pepsi Grandstand at the State Fair this summer. I think we can say Tyler is a friend of KIX 105.7. He's been hunting with Harry, and even recorded the theme song for "Huntin'

Well a picture is worth a thousand words, so I guess there's not much more to say about this. Here's the new logo for Roll Out of Bed with Rob. We'll have some T-shirts and stuff made pretty soon, so make sure when I'm out and about at live broadcasts, you come and see me to get yours!

There's a pretty sweet event coming up in February: Tropical Nights: Boots in the Sand. Not only is it an awesome vacation at the oceanfront Hard Rock Riviera Hotel Maya in Mexico, but you also get to see live shows from Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer, and have a chance to hang out with them as well.
