Girl Scout Leaders and Supporters Discuss How to Keep Camp Sacajawea Alive [INTERVIEWS]

Many Girl Scout leaders and supporters of the program showed up at a meeting held at the Sacajawea West Shelter House last night (Aug. 13), as CEO of the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland Anne Soots gave the leaders an overview of the status of Camp Sacajawea and how the leaders need to make a plan to keep the camp going since the Council announced in June that they planned to divest of the camp.

Behka’s Buildings at the Fair: The Agriculture Building [PHOTOS]

There is so much stuff going on at the Missouri State Fair that is so important to people in our area. Farming, agriculture and youth in farming are so very vital to our way of life. So of course, a lot of what goes on at the Fair is showing off how great they all are! These farmers and their families really work so incredibly hard to produce such wonderful livestock and product, and it's a great showcase for all their talents.

President Barack Obama Visits University of Central Missouri [PHOTOS]

President Barack Obama came to UCM in Warrensburg today (July 24) to discuss the merits of the Missouri Innovation Campus program, an agreement between Lee's Summit R-7 School District, Metropolitan Community College and UCM that allows students to graduate with a 4-year degree, two years after college with no student debt and sets them up on a career path with valuable experience.  Obama also spoke about how education can help fuel the economy and concentrating on helping students entering into college and going through it.
