April 1, 2013 Kids, around this time of year a lot of groups are gearing up for the big Relay for Life Fundraiser. It's a great cause, and I'm sure all of us in some way or another have been touched by cancer.
A benefit concert to support Gregg Lohman, the drummer in Kellie Pickler's band, is scheduled for Monday, April 1. The show is being staged to raise money to help offset the costs of Lohman's medical bills after a serious car accident earlier this month.

March 28, 2013 Kids, when I was a youngin, I did some stuff with the Liberty Center. At Smith-Cotton, sometimes you'd do something in art or music or whichever, and your paths would cross with the Liberty Center Association.
March 27, 2013 Kids, as you probably know, I'm a fan of animals. Well, I wouldn't ask them for their autograph or anything, since they don't speak English and lack the ability to write, but I do enjoy them quite a bit.
Any kind of show on Netflix or whatever about animals, it's bound to be watched at some point by me. Funny animals, animal documentaries, animal training shows, you name it. So I like to take some time out of my life to help out an animal when I can. That's why I've always adopted my pets from the Animal Shelter. I would hope you would do that, too! Well, AnimalFAIR is a group that runs a no-kill shelter here in our area. They're doing a fundraiser that seems like a lot of fun, that I wanted to tell you about.

March 22, 2013 One of my favorite events for one of my favorite causes is going on Saturday It's the adult Easter Egg Hunt benefiting the Child Safe Organization. Child Safe is a organization that helps children who have been physically and or sexually abused. It's a safe place where kids who have been abused can talk to a professional about what has happened to them in a safe environment. It is videotaped and sent to prosecutors and law enforcement so the kids only have to tell their story one time. It's a great organization and this is their biggest fundraiser.

March 12, 2013 Kids, I know sometimes it can be a little strange trying to figure out just what there is to do around here. I sometimes see people on Facebook or other social media asking, "What are you guys doing tonight?" Well, I think sometimes people forget about all the good community get-togethers around here just because they're not looking for them.
