December 10, 2012 It is a tradition at the radio station to commemorate each employee's birthday with a cake. Each cake is decorated to reflect the personality of the individual having their special day. This year, the staff decided on a "Caddyshack" theme for my cake. That's a perfect theme for me. Plus an opportunity to quote the movie in the break room as we all fill our faces.
December 6, 2012 The holiday season has many different holidays that are celebrated, whether it be Christmas on Dec. 25, Chanukah starting on Dec. 8, Kwanzaa starting on Dec. 26 or a few others that are celebrated around the world. However, one that I celebrated when I was living in Germany is celebrated today (Dec. 6). It is St. Nicholas Day. This is not the day he was born as you may think, but is the day he died in AD 343, and thus is called the St. Nicholas Feast Day.

November 30, 2012 With Hostess going out of business, everyone is worried that they will never again enjoy the cream filled sponge cake known as the Twinkie. Luckily, there are 110 companies that are currently in a bidding war for Hostess' brands.
The Twinkie will live on, but what do we do in the meantime? After all, we're Americans. We want instant gratification. Thanks to Todd Wilbur, you can now make them at home!
November 27, 2012 I think there is a reason that most people eat turkey once a year: you realize on the second day of leftovers that it's just not that good. In fact, I think it ranks right up there with Spam.
November 20, 2012 Kids, the other day we here at KIX asked you guys what your absolute least favorite holiday food was. You can see the results here, or vote if you haven't. Well, the leader, not too surprisingly was Fruitcake.
