Coley McCabe has written music that has been recorded by Bill Anderson, Loretta Lynn and Rebecca Lynn Howard, just to name a few. She'll be performing at Dukes & Boots along with Wynn Varble and Thom Shepherd on Jan. 30. She took time out of her day to call my show for a taste of what you'll get when you attend the event.
Corrin Campbell serves our country in a very unique way. She is a Sargent in the U.S. Army. She is also a musician, singer and songwriter. Corrin is the face of the Army Recruiting Entertainment Team. She and her band travel the world representing our military on stage. The audiences vary greatly and include our troops overseas, high school students, VIPs and dignitaries.
There are times that people will think they heard one thing, but what was actually hitting their ears was something else entirely. It happens to all of us. That was the case regarding a song during the Red Dirt Music Hour recently. Here's the voice mail we received.
Wynn Varble is coming to Dukes & Boots on Jan. 30 with Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe. Wynn has written hits that include "Have you Forgotten," "Cheater, Cheater" and "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind." He took time out to call my show and give us a sample of what you will hear at the concert.
Thom Shepherd called recently to talk about the Jan. 30 concert at Dukes & Boots. Thom talks about some of the hits he's written and gives us some of the insight into a couple of them. This is just a small taste of what Thom, along with Wynn Varble and Coley McCabe will be doing during the show.
Actor and outdoors enthusiast Marshall Teague is paying Sedalia a visit for the 2012 Cabin Fever Sports Show on Feb. 2. He'll be signing autographs and meeting people throughout the day. He took time out of his day to call my show and talk about his work and his love of the outdoors.
Kids, I come from a family of people who do not stay quiet when they sleep. I'm sure it's something you can understand, if not identify with. Some people snore, some people toss and turn, some people cough, and well, yes, some of us talk.
Sharee Norfleet, Superintendent of the Pettis County R-V School District, sent a letter to parents regarding the safety of the students Monday afternoon (Dec. 17). The exact text from that letter is as follows:
Brad Pollitt, Assistant Superintendent of the Sedalia School District, addressed the recent rumors of kids possibly committing violent acts at Smith-Cotton High School in an interview this morning. After a joint investigation with school officials, the student resource officer and the Pettis County Juvenile Office, no credible threats of violence were found. The rumored acts were said to be surrounding what ancient Mayans claimed to be the end of the world.
