Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood are each looking at a prestigious honor outside of their usual realm -- they both have shows that have been nominated for Emmys!

The Emmy Awards, which celebrate the television industry, have recognized both country singers for their recent contributions to television. Underwood's 'The Sound of Music Live!' -- starring the country superstar as Maria von Trapp and Stephen Moyer as Captain von Trapp -- has been nominated for a whopping four Emmys in 2014. In addition, 'The Voice,' where Shelton serves as a mentor and judge, is also up for an Emmy this year.

Luckily, the country stars' shows won't be going up against each other, as they're nominated in different categories. 'The Sound of Music Live!' is up for Outstanding Special Class Program, Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Technical Direction, while 'The Voice' is up for Outstanding Reality-Competition Show.

Shelton has some stiff competition his category, however. 'The Voice' is up against 'The Amazing Race,' 'So You Think You Can Dance,' 'Dancing With the Stars,' 'Top Chef' and 'Project Runway.'

Other popular shows like 'The Big Bang Theory,' 'Modern Family,' 'Breaking Bad,' 'Mad Men' and 'South Park' are also nominated. The Emmy Awards will be hosted by ex-'SNL' cast member and 'Late Night' host and funny man Seth Meyers. The 2014 Emmy Awards will be held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. and will be shown live on NBC Aug. 25.
