Carrie Underwood’s kind heart and generosity is being recognized by the Academy of Country Music with the 2016 Lifting Lives Gary Haber Award. The honor is given each year to a country artist or industry professional who is committed to serving others, has a generosity of spirit and shows a dedication to helping those in need.

Underwood is donating her time and talent to serve as a headliner for the ACM Party for a Cause Festival on April 1, which benefits ACM Lifting Lives. She was also one of the first artists to partner with the organization by bringing much-needed musical instruments to public schools in her hometown of Checotah, Okla. In addition, she has served in several efforts with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, Operation Homefront and her own C.A.T.S. Foundation, which serves her hometown community.

ACM Lifting Lives is committed to improving lives through music by developing and funding music education and therapy programs and serving members of the community facing unexpected hardships through its Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund. Its three-day Party for a Cause event in Las Vegas also features Dierks Bentley and Kenny Chesney as headliners for the second and third day.

Underwood is slated to perform at the upcoming ACM Awards on April 3, where she’s nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. She recently celebrated hitting her 23rd career No. 1 with “Heartbeat,” and is currently on the road for her sold-out Storyteller Tour. Of course, she is balancing all of those things with being a mom to her one-year-old, Isaiah, who apparently won’t let her just go to the bathroom uninterrupted. He and Underwood got to step out on the ice at the Nashville Predators’ Bridgestone Arena earlier this month to congratulate dad and husband Mike Fisher on his reaching 1000 games played in the NHL.
