Wow, what a weekend!  The 2013 Cabin Fever Sports Show last weekend was awesome.  Thanks a lot to all of the vendors who participated, and a special thanks to you, the attendees.  We had double the attendance as the previous year, and we collected 272 pounds of food for the food pantry.  What a great way to have some fun and do some good at the same time.

Marshall Teague was awesome.  He walked around and talked to everybody, from vendors to attendees.  He was hanging out with the Mid-Mo Outlaws, the MoNASP, at the archery kids' shoot, and even shot the new bow from Bowtech at the Rusty Toad Archery Booth and tried out the 3D Pop Up Archery Shoot.  He had a lot of great things to say, complimenting the activities for the kids and parents, which we agreed was the way it should be.  He was amazed that the kids from the Lincoln and Cole Camp Archery In Schools Program ran the archery booth just as well (if not better) than the adults doing their job, making sure to teach safety as well as shooting instruction.

The 3D Pop Up Shoot was a great success, and we're already planning on doing it again next year.  We are also in talks about having one this summer or in early fall.  We had over 60 shooters and lots of kids 12 and under participate, and it was a lot of fun.  Thanks to Sticks Archery and all of the target and prize sponsors, it was the place to be.  My wife shot the Pop-Up shoot and placed 2nd.  Great job, honey!  We've already got booths sold for next year and will be bring more new and exciting things to the 2014 Cabin Fever Sports Show.

This Saturday, State Fair Archery has their second shoot of the year, and this Sunday is the Montrose Archery shoot.  Both are great shoots and should be pretty good, so come on out and get started.  The United Bowhunters of Missouri had their big event last weekend.  It was great and I wish we could have been there.  They are working with us on some of our events and had an auction of homemade arrows.  They donated $1450 to MoKids Outdoors, which is awesome.  We'll be in a booth next to theirs out at the Deer Classic in Columbia, helping them build 400 PVC bows for the kids, and it's sure to be a blast.

We still have three spots for our youth turkey hunt this spring, so give me a call or drop by 209 S. Ohio and get signed up.  If you are interested in being a guide or have property where we could hold a youth or Wounded Warrior hunt, please let us know since we could always use guides.

Until next week, spend some extra time with family and friends and enjoy the outdoors.
