Breakfasts and Blood Drives Spreading Holiday Cheer in Sedalia

This past week, I sort of holed myself up at home and didn’t do much for my time off.  I think sometimes you’ve got to just sleep in and watch some TV on the couch…or at least I do.  So when I came back here to the studios today, I realized there’s a lot of great chances for us to keep spreading that Holiday spirit.

Sedalia is a very generous community, as are the surrounding towns and counties.  So I thought I’d tell you guys about some similarly themed stuff going on, so you can keep in the loop of how you can help.

The Broadway Presbyterian Church will have a Pancake Breakfast.

This will be held at the church from 7:00 a.m. to noon on December 7.  The breakfast is organized by the Broadway’s Deacons ministry and helps support the many outreach activities offered.  The cost for adults is $5, kids under 3 are $3, and 2 years of age and younger eat for free.  Delivery is available.

The Shrine Breakfast is coming up on December 7.

The Shrine Breakfast will be served from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for a cost of $6.  They’ll have eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, juice, milk or coffee.  The breakfast will be held at 1375 Elm Hills blvd and is open to the public.  For to go orders, call 281-3619 or 826-6171.

There will be a blood drive with the Community Blood Center on December 10.

The blood drive will be held on Tuesday, December 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 200 South Limit.  The need for O negative and A negative blood types is very high.  To make an appointment online, go to esavealifenow.org and use the sponsor code sedaliacomm.  You may also contact Marge Watson at 826-5300.

Warrensburg Police and Fire Department’s December Blood Drive is coming up.

They will be honoring the brave Americans who came together to win World War II and save the world will be Friday, December 6, 2013, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at the Warrensburg Community Center.  The need for blood is a constant need. With the holidays approaching and the cold and flu season upon us it is very important to donate if you are healthy.  It is a season of giving and what better gift to give than the gift of life.

So donate some blood and then get yourself some grub!

Drivingly yours,

Behka
