Brad Paisley Teams Up With John Fogerty at Grand Ole Opry

Brad Paisley treated audience members at the Grand Ole Opry Tuesday night (April 12) to something very special, inviting his friend, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty, to the stage to perform three songs.

Tuesday's performance marked Fogerty's Opry debut. Paisley played three of his own songs before he introduced the crowd to Fogerty.

“We’re going to play some music and you’re going to know these songs, so sing along,” the icon urged.

The audience sang along word for word with “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” and Fogerty’s 1985 hit "Centerfield."

“I do want to tell you what an honor it is to be standing here,” Fogerty added between songs.

Paisley, who is an Opry member, no doubt understands what it means to be standing on the famed Opry stage, remarking, "The honor is ours."

The audience didn't have enough of the duo, so Paisley and Fogerty were called back to the Opry stage for an encore performance.

"Do you know any more songs?" Paisley asked Fogerty while laughing.

The two artists concluded with a performance of "Proud Mary," which earned them a standing ovation.

The Opry has a long history of surprise performers. Recently, Darius Rucker brought out former American Idol contestant Tristan McIntosh. Artists appearing on the Opry stage within the coming weeks include Vince Gill, Montgomery Gentry, Rascal Flatts, Chris Janson, Kelsea Ballerini, David Nail, Lauren Alaina, Chris Young, Craig Morgan, Dustin Lynch and Charles Esten, among others. Additionally, Tara Thompson, Maren Morris and Brothers Osborne will make their Grand Ole Opry debuts.
