The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri raised more than $127,000 at its 27th annual 'Evening of Heart & Hope,' presented by W-K Chevrolet, over the weekend.

The event was held Saturday, February 4, at the Sedalia County Club.

Fundraising Director Meghan Jeffreys said, “We’re so thankful to everyone who came out and bid from the heart. The auction has always been a premier fundraising event in the community and thanks to our generous donors, we can continue to serve the nearly 800 children we see every day at our 11 Club sites.”

The evening featured games, raffles, live and silent auctions, and a performance by Club members including guest speaker, Jake Rogers, who is BGCWCM’s 2017 'Youth of the Year.' Guests and non-attendees could bid on silent auction items this year, through a new mobile-bidding platform.

“This was our first year with mobile bidding and we were very happy with how well it went,” Jeffreys said. “It was a great way to allow those who couldn’t attend the auction a chance to bid on some amazing auction packages and baskets.”

In addition to raising general operating funds, the evening’s 'SAY Yes Scholarship Fund' also netted more than $17,000. The fund provides 100% scholarships to area children whose families may not be able to afford the Club’s $5 per-day programming fee.

Jeffreys gave a special thank you to Starline, who is the 'SAY Yes' Champion each year. All proceeds raised at 'An Evening of Heart & Hope' will be used for Club operations.
