A lot of people like to be outside in the summertime.  Sports and outdoor activities seem to go hand in hand with these warmer weather days.  The Boys and Girls Club wants to get you out there too, and get you involved in one of their biggest fundraisers of the year. Golf season is in full swing and the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is hoping area golfers will spend a little time on the links for a good cause.  Putting “Fore” the Kids will take place at the beautiful Triple Creek Golf Course in Cole Camp August 23 and team submissions are now being accepted. The four-person scramble will feature games and raffles, cash prizes and lunch. So not only are they gearing up for that next month, they're also working on a new campaign to get kids in the Club.

Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is joining Clubs around the country to remind communities that “when schools are out, Clubs are in” through the launch of its Great Futures annual campaign.  To highlight what Clubs can offer local communities, every Club in the United States will come together on July 31 to celebrate and bring awareness to the great things that are available to children with after-school and summer learning options.  Locally, the day will culminate with a special presentation at 3 p.m. at Heber Hunt Elementary.   I got to talk with Meghan Beard of the Club about the Golf Tournament and about the kickoff of Great Futures.

For more information about the Great Futures campaign, contact Meghan Beard at 826-8331. Those interested in donating to the Great Futures campaign should be sure to designate Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri as the recipient. If you'd like to join in on the Golf Tournament, entry fees are $65 per person or $260 for a team of four. All proceeds will go toward the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri operations. For more information on how to book a team or sponsorship opportunities, call Meghan Beard at 826-8331. You can also visit their website for other information.

Futurely yours,
Behka
