Bothwell Regional Health Center has launched a new shuttle service that will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The 6-passenger shuttle cart has enclosures to protect riders during inclement weather, and a flashing roof light, to increase its visibility to automobile drivers.

The shuttle service will cover the parking lots south and east of the BRHC campus, including the hospital’s main parking lot.

“Our footprint keeps expanding as we continue to offer our patients more services and programs,” said Jimmy Robertson, chief executive officer of BRHC. “As a result, our patients and visitors are walking to and from parking lots that are farther away, oftentimes in inclement weather. In addition, some of our patients and visitors have limited mobility. Our new shuttle service will make it easier and safer for them to come and go.”

Driving the shuttle is Larry Whipple, a 10-year BRHC employee who is familiar with transporting patients. Before accepting this new role, Whipple was a patient transporter in radiology.
