The 2016 Benton County 4-H & FFA Youth Fair is coming soon to the Benton County Fairgrounds in Lincoln on Park Street.

The public is invited to attend the event, which starts Wednesday, July 6 with dairy cattle at 1 p.m., sheep at 6 p.m., pets at 7 p.m. and dogs after that, among other categories, and continues Thursday, July 7 with poultry and rabbits at 9 a.m., goats at 1 p.m., as well as a Royalty Coronation at 6 p.m., followed by a Fashion Revue at 6:15 p.m.

Chocolate cake entries are due by 6:45 p.m. with judging at 7. An ice cream contest starts at 7:30 p.m. A chocolate cake auction takes place at 7:45 p.m.  And a cake and ice cream social will begin at 8 p.m. After the social, a pedal tractor pull sponsored by the Benton County Farm Bureau will take place, as well as family games sponsored by the Cole Camp FFA.

On Friday, July 8 a BBQ chicken contest starts at 8:30 a.m. A horse show will take place at 11 a.m., and a beef show starts at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, July 9, a swine show begins at 10 a.m. An archery contest takes place at 2 p.m., and a livestock dinner starts at 5 p.m., followed by an auction at 6:30 p.m.

Please note that non-livestock, cheeses and cured meats will be released only after completion of the the livestock sale and clean-up of the fairgrounds on July 9. Exhibitors must check out with the superintendents to verify Missouri State Fair eligibility of their exhibits.

Concessions will be provided and they will benefit the Benton County 4-H and FFA Youth Fair. Public bathrooms or portable toilets will be available at the event. No alcohol or drugs are allowed on the fairgrounds. Participants are encouraged to place their trash in the receptacles provided and bedding/manure in their designated areas.
