Fashion comes and goes. What was popular 50 years ago may come back around to be today's hot trends.  What about boots?  What's more popular...round, square or pointed toe western boots?

There was a day when all of your cowboy boots were basically the same. Although western boots can be customized with a wide variety of toe shapes, the classic design is a narrowed, usually pointed, toe. The original toe was rounded and a bit narrowed at the toe to make it easier to insert into the stirrup for cowboys and cowgirls.

A newer design called the "roper" style boots came along years later. This style of boot offered a rounded toe with both the original slip-on style and a lace-up version, and later styles of the boot started featuring a squared toe.

Which ever leather boot you choose to wear, calfskin, buffalo, or horsehide, or something with more exotic materials such as alligator or ostrich, always remember to take off your spurs before you squat!
