The driver of a stolen vehicle is at large after a pursuit that involved Sedalia police officers, Pettis County deputies, and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers.

On July 26 Sedalia Police were dispatched to Menards around 10:12 p.m. for a report of a vehicle break-in. A caller told police that someone had broken into her unlocked truck and stole several items.

Later that night, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle tied to the theft. The vehicle fled into the county. Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and Highway Patrol Troopers picked up the pursuit, which resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle, crashing, and fleeing on foot.

The suspect has not been located. The vehicle had been reported stolen from another county. It was towed by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.
