Harry

I went to school in Green Ridge, moved to Nixa my junior year and graduated from there in 1983. I love hunting and fishing, and I fished professionally for bass and crappie for eight years. I started shooting archery for Bowhunters Pro Shop in the 80s and 90s, and moved back to Sedalia in 1993. I started MoKids Outdoors in 2004 to get kids more involved with outdoor activities. I've been hosting the Huntin' and Fishin' with Harry show for six years, and I love being back in central Missouri. I have three sons, a wife and a grandson. Thanks for checkin' me out!

Stay Tuned for Fishing and Lake Level Reports

The weather roller coaster is on another wild ride, and this time I have to say that mother nature is a motha and groundhogs are on my most wanted list.  The only way for me to feel better is to get out my AR and run a couple hundred rounds through it, then shoot my pistol, a few shotguns, more rifles, and then start all over with my other AR.  Then I'll clean them, because the smell of gunpowder and cleaning solvent is the essence of fun.

Huntin’ Harry’s Turkey Hunting Tips for Youth

We're back on the weather roller coaster, 20s and 30s through the first part of the week and then back to 50s and 60s.  I know one thing, I'm ready for spring crappie fishing, turkey killin', 3D shootin', campin' and fishin'.  Man, that's what's coming right around the corner.  We'll be posting fishing reports starting in April along with tournament dates.  So get a new line on those reels and knock the dust off your tackle box, because it's right around the corner.

The Ups and Down of Winter Storms

Winter finally made a big encore performance and it was a blessing.  It may be a pain and we may complain about it, but the farmers and lakes really need the water.  I think this added about three inches of moisture to the ground with both storms combined.  We are still well below the norm, but every little bit helps.  The storm brought a lot of trees down and left a lot of people without power.  Thank you to all of the crews that were out there during the storm trying to keep up with all of the problems.

Get Signed Up for the Youth Turkey Hunt

We're getting set up for a great turkey season and I can't wait.  We will be having a youth hunt, then taking some adults and Wounded Warriors out this season, but our main focus this year is Eric, our good friend from the VA home in Warrensburg that is a quadriplegic.  We were close to getting a deer during deer season, but we're more confident and familiar with the equipment for turkey season, so we've already started to plan our attack on the elusive thunder chickens.  It's always a great privilege to hunt with Eric and any vet or child that we take out on a hunt.

Crappie, Youth Hunt and Archery Shoots

Is there ever going to be a level weather ride?  We've had more ups and downs than the economy.  I finally found out what all of the congressmen have in common.  They all had the same jobs before politics: they were weathermen, which means they all have a degree in B.S.

Your 2nd Ammendment Rights are Being Infringed Upon [OPINION]

Last Saturday (Jan. 19), Guns Across America held a rally at the north side of the capitol building in Jefferson City, and hundreds of Missourians attended to show their concern for their 2nd Amendment rights being infringed upon.  Rallies like this one were held across the country at state capitols around our great nation.
